Dreams Foundation’ team is not only ambitious but also covers excellently all specific needs of the children – Bulgarian citizens, who are going to be, are and were adopted. This team is completely prepared to provide both children and their adoptive parents with all services which might be needed before the adoption procedure is started, while the procedure is pending, as well as during the post-adoption period. Each one of the team members has experience accumulated in the field of international adoptions; is well prepared for the problems which may arise before, during and after the adoption is completed; and is in position to react adequately and promptly to each issue or problem.

Antonia Vladimirova is Master of Law, qualified attorney since April 7th, 1997 and member of Sofia Bar Association since May 1997 as of today.


For the period 1995-1997 she was solicitor for international adoption cases and since 1997 has been working in the field of international adoptions as senior attorney. Antonia represented 34 foreign families who adopted 39 children – Bulgarian citizens. Besides legal activity accompanying every adoption case, she works with the children and adoptive families during and after the adoption process towards adjustment and adaptation. She follows the physical, mental and emotional development of the children after they are placed in their new home. Antonia is in touch with all of her adoptive families, even those who happened to be her first cases. She always helps the families and children in establishing their contact.


Antonia has been witnessing all legislative initiatives and changes regarding international adoptions since 1997. She provided numerous comments related to international adoptions to different national media.






Margarita Sulova, Attorney-at-law

Margarita Sulova graduated from the Legal Department of Sofia University and has been qualified attorney since April 27th, 1978. Since April 1979 till December 1982 she was a member of Lovetch Bar Association and since January 1983 as of today is a member of Sofia Bar Association


In the capacity of civil attorney with a long experience since 1979 as of today, she has been facilitating at least three domestic adoptions per year. She has been working in the field of international adoptions since 1999. Margarita was representative of six foreign families (Netherlands and USA) who adopted six children – Bulgarian citizens. Beeing their representative, besides the obligatory legal work, she dedicates her time to work for children’s and parents’ adaptation to their new living conditions. She maintains contacts with all of her foreign families who adopted a child – Bulgarian citizen and provides them with counseling needed to resolve the difficulties arisen. Margarita shares with them the joy of the children’s development and growth in their new environment and families.

These three exceptional ladies have valuable and rich experience with international adoptions. Galina Kubratova is Director while Zorka Aphusova and Eugenia Stoyanova were Members of a Team organized as Advisory Office for prospective adoptive parents and adoptive parents. This Advisory Office operated during the period 2000-2003 on the territory of Sofia and three other big cities in Bulgaria. That was the only and unique project carried out ever in Bulgaria. For its three years of existence the Advisory Office provided counseling to tremendous number of prospective and adoptive parents.

These three professionals practice in the field of international adoptions. Zorka Aphusova has been Director of Orphanage “Nadejda” in Sofia since 1993 and as such she helped dozens successful international adoptions by monitoring, facilitating and following them. Even more, she keeps track of her former alumni’s development even today and observes the main problems arising after completion of adoptions as well as the tools to resolve them. Eugenia works at the Orphanage “Nadejda” too (since 1998). She provides one-on-one services to the children who are in process of international adoption and corrects their multiple problems, such as speech, auditory, intellectual and developmental ones. Galina Kubratova is operating Medical Psychologist and Therapist and both children and parents are within the scope of her patients. Galina was also a lecturer in Developmental Psychology in the Department of Social and Personal Psychology at the Sofia University. She is author of over 40 publications in national newspapers and is a court expert with rights on independent psychological evaluation.

Zorka, Galina and Eugenia are co-authors of a manual for students of pedagogy – “Integrated Education Project”, in two parts – “TheoryandEmpirism”, published in 2001 and 2003, which deals with the problems of education of children with specific educational needs (hearing, speech, intellectual problems, etc.).

Zorka is also co-author of monographical collection "Orientation, Motivation, Adaptation - "Hope" Ideological Project (Patterns for socialization of children with different family status). This collection summarizes long-lasting research experience of the team at Orphanage "Nadejda" regarding integrated socialization of children at age 3-7.








Ivailo Dimitrov, MD


Dr.Dimitrov graduated from the Medical University, Sofia in 1992. Since December 1999 he acquired specialization “Pediatrician”. For the period 1993-2000 he worked in the Children Ward of 27th Policlinic in Sofia. Also during the period 1993-2005 he worked as Pediatrician at the Orphanage “Nadejda”. Since 2000 he carries out general practice as Pediatrician.

Dr. Dimitrov possesses rich experience in international adoptions. As pediatrician at the Orphanage "Nadejda" not only did he carry out regular medical checks of every child but also counseled the prospective adoptive parents regarding medical status of the children they wanted to adopt. Dr. Dimitrov enjoys uncondititonal trust and respect on behalf of the adoptive parents as in his work with them and the children he continuously proves to be high-standards professional who loves children.
